Clients introduction

Kosh hair and makeup is a bridal studio owned by Sugirtha Subbiah, a fashion designer and makeup artist based out of Theni. Since 2019, the studio has been growing its services throughout south India and has worked on over 200 weddings in the last three years.

Base requirement

To redesign the studio's identity and create a strong brand voice, brand philosophy, and guidelines to cater for the best service for its present and future target audiences, as well as to keep consistency across all studio branches.

Challenges

Language
Kosh is a regional studio, and because most of its target audience prefers regional languages, bilingual formats were required for marketing collateral.

Media/Press
With most communication taking place via WhatsApp and phone conversations, utilising Google Analytics via website connection is not as effective in this scenario.

Visuals
The brand must be highly modern, elegant, and inviting, while the graphics must target an audience that has already been exposed to comparable pictographic components through the beauty and cosmetics sectors.

The keywords for the logo mark derived from preliminary study were woman, beauty, princess, bride, and Tamil. I went in three distinct paths based on these aspects.


1. A metaphorical depiction of an Indian woman and her beauty using Tamil cultural themes and art techniques. In Tanjore's huge temple and Modhera's Sun Temple, a renowned sculpture of a lady using mascara was used.


2. Line art illustration of a Tamil woman and traditional bridal decorations.


3. A contemporary silhouette of a princess with a crown.

primary typeface

Cleopatra is our primary typeface.

Uppercase letters, numbers, and a wide range of punctuation are all included in this typeface. Serif typeface with a contemporary, attractive look. Designed for posters, web designs, branding, drawings, badges, and other projects. This typeface is primarily meant for use in headers, brand names, and other appropriate duties. Cleopatra - typeface groove new typeface. Confidence in the bling to it with sensitive lines provides brand loyalty and long-term fashion.


Secondary typeface

Futura PT is an additional typeface. You may add accents to the font hierarchy using this font. This typeface does not have a great number of styles, thus there are no added challenges. Futura PT employs an equal width of the character, which aids in the display of information on both digital and printed products. This typeface, which comes in several weights, serves as the body of the Kosh style.

Concluding thoughts

The client was happy with the end result. Working for small firms allows us a lot of creative flexibility. This job allowed me to learn more about makeup artistry and current market trends among freelance artists and studios.
