Clients introduction

Bliss Natural pads is a fast-growing and eco-friendly sanitary napkin made from kenaf fibres (Kenaf stem waste), which is a well-known substitute for jute. Niveda R and Gowtham S created bliss Natural, in Coimbatore, and they claim their product to be sustainable. Being 100% bio-degradable, the Indian bureau of standards has accredited the product as bio-based and meeting the United Nations' sustainable standards.

Base requirement

To rebuild the brand identity and visual aspects in order to generate a powerful brand voice and market positioning. To properly represent the product and develop confidence among current and future customers.

Services offered

Branding and strategising - Brand strategy and research, mood board and creative direction, Brand placement, logo design, package design, pitch presentations, marketing materials, and design collaterals.

Challenges

Taboo and competition
Competing with well-established and connected giants like Whisper and Stay-free, the need for a strong voice and identity, unique and strategised to break the taboos around creating awareness and selling their products, is challenging.

Awareness and Language
Bliss Natural's vision is to make sanitary products affordable, and available for Indian Women while being sustainable, needs to focus on the masses, in specific the rural population which has less access to such products. So language and awareness of sustainability and impact were and are a major challenge.

Marketing
With eco-friendly and organic labels being exploited in the Indian market, new ways to communicate and stand out required a lot of research, analysis, and effort.

Pricing
As a student startup, the funding for exploring sustainable alternative packaging choices was far from being considered.

Concluding thoughts

This proposal did not advance to the next stage for a variety of reasons. This project assisted me in creating a framework for identifying the type of clients I wanted to work with, who are looking for creative solutions.
